Heading West:
After catching a wonderful movie at the NC Museum of Art (we saw the french comedy Populaire), the night-time light all around the museum really grabbed my interest. It has kind of a hyper-real feel to it, with unique color, shadows and silhouettes. No noire at all, but almost like it’s staged.
By the way, we love NCMA (and their free admission system) so much, that after our first few months here, we decided to get a membership. You get discounts to the indoor films, free admission to the larger venue outdoor films, and to attend all of the traveling exhibitions for free— It’s a good deal and a great way to show our support for all they do.
Hope to see you at a film or in the galleries this summer!
