The glass is in and the fascad is really taking shape. This is a Ken ‘creative’ shot of the new glass front reflecting the old Strong buildings surrounding it.

Even inside they are coming along. This Saturday, the first huge accelerator machine will be installed… I was amazed that they are doing that so early, but I was told they need lots of time to get it on line.

Cool Locations

I’m so fortunate that I get to shoot in so many interesting places in Rochester. I remember the time when the George Eastman House folks asked me ‘Where (in the mansion) did I think I’d like to take the portraits’… I mean, that’s a loaded question! Every square inch of the place is beautiful; I had a harder time narrowing down locations than finding one.

Once a while back I was able to shoot from Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School’s bell tower… lots of pigeon poo, but a lovely view and great shots with the bell. I was back at Colgate today (they are getting to be such a great client), and even though I was there for ‘people’ shots, I couldn’t help grabbing these building/window photos.

I guess if you shoot supermodels, that must be easier than shooting regular workin’ folks… and for me, shooting in these locations is just a blast.

One of the key features of the new Cancer Center @ Strong is going in… the entrance will be this large sweep of open windows.

…and that’s the way it’s done… these panes weigh 500 pounds.

The new 4-story James P. Wilmot Cancer Center will open Spring 2008.

One more for Canon

I wanted to join the Canon equilavelnt of the Nikon Pro Services and found 2 e-mail addresses online… both folks got back to me in under 24 hours (one in just a couple hours) with the info I needed.

I’m sure the honeymoon will end at some point, but I’m still liking Canon. I used to spend so much time on hold with Nikon NPS I finally gave up and started using an independent repair shop.

And the Answer is… the World’s First Digital Camera!

Yes, the presentation I’ve been hinting at in earlier posts was on the first digital camera as developed by Kodak in 1976… it was an awesome presentation and a real peek at history.

This is the mission statement of the ‘Camera of the Future’ project.

TV Output

Kodak Digital Milestones

It recorded to cassette tape.

As you saw in the earlier posts, I wasn’t the only one geeking out on seeing the camera… what’s so cool about being the photog for GEH is being able to go up on stage and get the cool angles, and to meet the people involved… what a great event. It was all part of a Leica symposium held at GEH.
